Who We Are

Who We Are

Lōkahi House is a safe place for women to gather with other women to

listen, support, encourage, and love one another as we go through life together.

Many of us have been taught that to be a "good woman" and show we care, we need to sacrifice ourselves for our families and those we love. We often put our own needs last, or neglect them completely, leaving us exhausted and frustrated while we try to run at full speed on empty tanks. We need to start by taking care of our own mind, body, and spirit first, so we are able to fully show up for the people we love with something left to give. Some of us have been taking care of others needs for so long, we don't even know what our own needs are anymore, or where to begin.

Lōkahi House was created to help provide a place for women to get together with other women who want to prioritize their own personal growth and well-being. The purpose is to encourage and enrich women, without expectations, comparisons or judgements. There is no membership fee, and we are not trying to sell you anything. We are simply a group of volunteer women who have a desire to love, support, and encourage other women. We are non-profit and fully funded by The Lōkahi House Foundation. At times, a small donation may be suggested to cover the costs of your own personal materials for certain events or workshops, but this will always be communicated ahead of time and there will be some funds available to help those who really want to participate but may not be financially able.

Our goal is to provide a place for women who share in the desire to grow alongside other women, and feel welcome and included. We are not associated with any particular religion or outside organization. We believe that everyone has a purpose and has something to contribute. We also believe that there is something greater than us that exists, a higher power, which many of us call God. We speak from our own personal beliefs, and are happy to share, but we will not push, judge or exclude those who call their higher power by a different name, or prefer to spiritually connect in other ways. The only thing we ask is that everyone treats each other with respect, even when there are differences of opinions or beliefs.

Lōkahi House is a place where we can fill our souls, free of unhealthy distractions, so when we walk out the door to face the world we will do so with an overflowing cup of joy that will naturally spill over to those around us, especially our families and the people we love most.

Jamiee

It has always brought me great joy to give and to help others. I have gone through many painful experiences in my life, but I believe that these experiences were meant to teach me valuable lessons so I was better equipped to be there for other women who may be going through similar struggles in their own lives. My vision for Lōkahi House is to provide a sanctuary for women in my community to gather, support and encourage one another. A safe place to talk about how we feel and what we are going through without fear or judgement. A place to laugh and learn together and to receive comfort and curb loneliness just by listening to each other and saying, “I understand how you feel”. God has strategically placed so many beautiful women in my life who each have loving hearts and unique and incredible talents to offer. These women kept me going when I was at some of the lowest points in my life.

Their presence in my life encouraged me during the times I couldn’t do it for myself. They loved me until I could love myself. These are my people, my community, and who God intended to be there alongside this journey with me. I treasure these friendships, and don't want to think about where I would be without them. I believe we are stronger together, and want every woman to feel loved and that they are not alone.

Jen

Jen is fully dedicated to women's overall health and well-being, physically and mentally. She understands that our physical and mental health go hand in hand, and are extremely important to our quality of life. Jen has a gift for inspiring other women to find their voice and stand up for themselves and their needs, improving confidence, self-esteem and self-worth. She has been an example to so many women in her life through her true friendship, loyalty, honesty, hard work and perseverance in everything she does. Jen has extensive knowledge from spending over 20 years in the healthcare industry, and a true passion for helping other women achieve optimum health through nutrition, exercise and movement.

She focuses on programs designed specifically for women and our unique goals. She is motivating, encouraging and practices what she teaches in her daily life, showing us that it is possible to make health and fitness a priority while maintaining a full work and home life balance. Jen is admired for her authenticity and genuine desire to see all women achieve fulfilling lives, with the understanding that everyone has a different definition of what that looks like for them. She is a wonderful friend to turn to when you need someone to talk to who will listen without judgement, while also speaking truth in love through genuine care for others. She will not allow you to believe the lies we sometimes tell ourselves about our worth, and will quickly remind you how amazing you are when the negative self-talk starts to creep in. She knows that healthy boundaries are important in all relationships, and is an example to others on how to have meaningful relationships without sacrificing the best of ourselves.

Nicole

Every house needs someone to keep things running smoothly, and Lōkahi House is so fortunate to have that person be Nicole.

As a loving wife and mother of 3 little girls, she has a deep understanding of the importance of time management and work-life balance. She is focused and organized, making her the perfect person to be in charge of managing our calendar of activities., and is the first point of contact for the house.

Nicole is incredibly gifted with a calming presence that radiates peace and serenity to everyone around her. She has a beautiful singing voice that you may be lucky enough to hear, as she often sings along to worship music at the house throughout the day. Nicole practices yoga, meditation, and breathing techniques that she is happy to be able to share with other women who are looking for healthy and natural ways to manage stress and anxiety.

She understands how hard it is for us to pause and take time for ourselves, let alone learn something new that we can continue to practice in our daily lives. She will be teaching techniques that you can practice in and out of the home. She will be providing guidance on focused breathing and why it is so important for our overall well-being. Nicole is incredibly kind, compassionate and loving, making her a wonderful friend to talk to if you need a listening ear in a trust-worthy and stress-free environment. She has a natural ability to brighten the darkest day, and a passion for helping other women find their center and achieve peace and balance in their daily lives.

Alycia

As an Artist, young female business owner, and graduate of Cal State University Fullerton with a Bachelor of the Arts degree, Alycia is extremely passionate about art as an expression of oneself. She uses creativity as a way to highlight the beauty in nature, bringing joy to those around her. She has deep care and concern for other women, our environment, and taking care of the earth and each other for the overall well-being of our entire planet and every living thing within it. She has a kind spirit and supports other women to follow their dreams. She values pursuing your passion for fulfillment within, over material possessions or monetary success. She is a loyal and trustworthy friend, and shows genuine care and thoughtfulness to those she loves.

Although she resides in Southern California and will not be physically present at Lōkahi House as much as we would like, she plans to volunteer her artistic talents to host virtual paint and sip nights that will be presented at the house to bring women together to experience the joy that comes along with creating beautiful art. Alycia believes that art has truly changed her life for the better, and is excited to share her passion with other women and continue to make beautiful art for beautiful people.
